why would u breed whie gsd? u cant show or breed them so the people by a white shep from you and cant show or breed it ? i dont understand that , in germany the breeding of white gsd isnt incouraged, i have a european working blood line bi-color puppy(male)4months old 47 lbs .

my 10 yr old shepherd goes close to 100 lbs and she has no hip problems. shepherds with strong german lines go that big by nature.

the Breed standard is a joke!! so many GSD owners are blind to the fact that the standard makes a great dog. The most important quality is temperment and health. I have a silver sable and people go out of their way to comment on how beautiful and large he is. He could never be “shown” because of his color and size, yet 2 other families in our neighborhood have purchased out of his parents because they liked him so much! Pioneer dogs are just fine!

They’re not called Large German Shepheds.
They’re German Stock, because they come from Germany. (<- big duh, I know)
The German Stock are alot bigger than American-bred GSD’s because that’s their origin. I’m German, I would know, I have a German Stock GSD.

i have a “King German Shep”.
They are not called Large German Shep. Dogs. if the GSD is more then 100 pounds its a King Shep. mine is 135 pounds. He is a big lover boy! GSD/King Sheps make great pets!!!!

It is not funny the german lines at least can still work and the american lines have no working abilities left.
Also the word”King” is a marketing scam to get you to buy them. That’s why they are over the standard, the standard is there for reason. You show the dog for whatever reason. But, the standard is broken here and there will be more Dyplasic dogs that ever with this over size animal breeding, do your research better!!

i have a pioneer german shepherd. he is 130 pounds. and is 10 years old. he is such a baby he still tries to get in my lap. and he is very demanding in his old age. lol does anyone know the age they usually live to be ?

I prefer the Shiloh shepherd big and bred for better hips and no ulgy angulation. But it is a shame that people want these lifeless non working type shepherds. A shepherd need drive or it’s nothing but a pointy eared lab

I have a large breed and he is wonderful, has high drive but is a wonderful family dog. He is about 14 months old and 30 inches high at about 110lbs. I couldn’t ask for a better dog.
