When breeding your dog should the female dog go to the male’s house?

I own a female yorkie & she's about two years old. We want to breed her & we have the dog selected, but should I bring her to the male's house or vice versa?

If you don't know this, you shouldn't be breeding.

Are both dogs AKC conformation champions?

    Excellent pedigrees?

Cleared for all health checks, eyes, hips, heart, elbows/knees, etc?

    Full genetic testing?

    Unbelieveably good temperments?

Overall judged by PROFESSIONALS to be in excellent health and perfect breed representatives?

Or just two "pets" that you've irresponsibly decided to breed, as if there aren't millions of homeless animals dying in shelters, many of which are purebreds that started out just like this?

Which ever is more convenient for you. Either way, your gonna breed her.

BYB do whatever they decide. In REAL dog breeding, you would not ask that HERE!!! It would be discussed with the stud owner, who would know this.

Take her to male dog's house. I'm not sure why but everytime I've had an animal bred or heard of a breeding the female always goes to the male's house.

Bring both dogs to the vet's office and get them fixed.

Don't be a backyard breeder. seriously do your research first, because most likely you don't have a dog worth breeding.

No. It is a much more comfortable situation for the male to come to the female. Too many times have I brought female to male and nothing happen. It's less stressful for her to be in a familiar environment to breed. I suggest bringing the male to her.

It doesn't really matter. I would contact the stud's owner and see where you both would like to meet at. Usually the "bitch" goes to the stud's home. Have they met before? You might want to introduce them first and be sure that they what to breed. Sometimes, some dogs are picky or discrete. My grandmother owned a poodle who wouldn't let the male mount her if she was in the room. She would sit down on him. And she wouldn't let just any male mount her either. She was very picky.

I wolud bring him to your house so that way you know she gets bred cuz they may say she was but then she was not and then you will be out of the money you payed them…

Oh and you are not a BYB…
And the dogs don't have to be AKC..

Yorkies are tricky dogs to breed. All too often the female is too small and her puppies die and so does she from a c-section. This should only be done by professional breeders.
