    I don't think you can take classes. What you should do is find a very good, reputable, AKC breeder who shows and breeds as a breeding mentor.

    First off, you need a dog that has gotten a Champion title in the show ring and has completed all genetic health tests.

    San Francisco

    Uh….classes? Probably none. A responsible breeder learns by chatting with other exhibitors at dog shows, studying their breed for YEARS, and endless conversations with their breeding mentor.

    there is a class for that?

    * Positive Methods Dog Training
    * San Francisco, CA
    * (415) 368-1329

    as the above have said but also you can contact the local breed club for the breed you are interested in and speak with them about the best way to start. They'll be able to tell when there are shows to go to, which breeders to speak with etc..It is not something you learn in a classroom or by a book…

    Haley Haley Haley. Have you heard the term, we are over breeding? Please can I beg of you not to do this, there are MILLIONS of homeless and in lock up dogs waiting, begging, crying to be saved. Find another at home profitable job without much cost. Please, I don't usually beg, but I am today because it means that much to me. There is not a breed of dog on Earth that is near extinction.
    At home you could make your own paper and turn that into lovely sellable notepads. You could paint on broken glass and buff the sides so their not sharp and sell as wall hanging art. You could try to get a license and make homemade cookies or suckers to sell to gas stations. You could babysit, dog sit, cat sit, elderly sit to name a few things, that would help the environment instead of hurt it. Please.

    Haley i can tell you this there are no classes on breeding anywhere. You learn by actually talking to people who have been in it for a long time.
